The Absalon Bridge is an emblematic figure of the circuit of the same name that winds through the rainforest of Balata, on the heights of Fort-de-France. Built in the 19th century over a small river, this bridge in the form of an arch is still passable. This work of art is a beautiful example of static human engineering, unchanging, magnified by the moving beauty of nature.

The surrounding green vegetation has tamed the human construction over the centuries and the building seems perfectly integrated into its environment. Standing in the riverbed, it has learned to link the present and the future, the here and the beyond.

In its Emerald setting, it is the ferryman.
